Church website platforms
Tithe.ly Sites, The Church Co, ShareFaith, Ministry Brands
- How you edit
- Log into their dashboard and edit blocks in a template
- Best for
- Churches that want giving, events, and the website from one vendor
- The tradeoff
- Your site looks like the other churches on the same template, and you don't own it
These are built for churches specifically, and that shows in the useful places: giving is integrated, there are sermon and event features you'd otherwise bolt on, and support understands what a bulletin is. For a church with no technical help and no design opinions, this is a genuinely reasonable landing spot.
The two costs are real, though. The first is sameness — template platforms mean a lot of churches end up on the same handful of layouts, and visitors can feel it even if they can't name it. The second is ownership: if you leave, you generally leave the site behind and start over. Ask any prospective vendor what exactly you take with you if you cancel. The answer is informative.
