Privacy Policy

Last updated October 5, 2026

This policy explains what information Elijah Desent (“we,” “us”), a website design business based in Warren, Michigan, collects through www.elijahdesent.com, the websites we build and host, and our website-editing tools — and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what we need to build, host, and support your website and to talk with you about it. We never sell your information.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you request a free concept, enter the Small Church Grant, sign up, fill out an intake form, send a chat message, or email us, we collect what you provide — typically your name, organization, role, email address, phone number, website address, and whatever you write in the message. Intake forms may also include content for your website such as photos, logos, service times, staff names, and documents.

Account information. If you sign in, we store your email address and a session. Sign-in uses a one-time link sent to your email; we don’t store passwords.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive the customer name, email, billing details, and the status of payments and subscriptions, but we never see or store your full card number.

Website editor and GitHub. If you connect our website editor to ChatGPT, Claude, or another AI assistant, you sign in with GitHub. We store the access tokens needed to read and change the website repositories you have access to, and a record of the changes made through the editor. Files and photos you upload through the editor or an upload link are stored in your site’s repository or in Vercel Blob storage.

Publicly available information. We research churches and other organizations that may benefit from a new website. From public sources — such as an organization’s own website, Google Maps listings, public social-media pages, and directories — we may collect the organization’s name, address, public phone number, public email address, website, and the name of its leader.

Usage information. When you visit our site or a site we host, we collect standard analytics data such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate location, device and browser type. When you click a link in an email from us, we record that the link was clicked.

Phone calls and texts. We may call or text an organization’s public number. Some calls are made by an AI voice assistant on our behalf; those calls may be recorded and transcribed so we can follow up accurately.

How we use it

  • To design, build, host, update, and support your website.
  • To respond to your requests and messages and to follow up about our services.
  • To run the Small Church Grant and other promotions you enter.
  • To process payments, send invoices, and manage subscriptions.
  • To operate the website editor and carry out the changes you ask for.
  • To reach out to organizations we think could use a better website.
  • To measure and improve our site, our ads, and the sites we host.
  • To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse, and to comply with the law.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as needed for them to do that work:

  • Hosting and storage — Vercel (website hosting, analytics, file storage), Neon (database), and GitHub (website source code).
  • Payments — Stripe.
  • Email and messaging — Google (Gmail) and Slack, which we use to send email and receive website chat and form messages.
  • AI providers — such as Anthropic, which we use to analyze public websites (for example, the free website score), and Vapi, which places AI-assisted phone calls. When you use our editor through ChatGPT, Claude, or another assistant, your conversation is also governed by that provider’s own privacy policy.
  • Analytics and advertising — Vercel Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and TikTok, which use cookies or similar technology to measure visits and ad performance.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

Cookies and tracking

Our site uses cookies and similar technology for sign-in, analytics, and advertising measurement (Google Analytics, Google Ads, and the TikTok Pixel). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and manage ad personalization in your Google and TikTok account settings. Blocking cookies will not stop the site from working, but you may need to sign in again.

Websites we build for our clients

For websites we host for churches and other clients, the client decides what information their site collects — for example, through contact or prayer-request forms — and we process it on the client’s behalf to deliver it to them. Questions about a client’s site should go to that organization first; we’ll help them respond.

Your choices

  • Stop hearing from us. Reply to any email or text and ask us to stop, or email me@elijahdesent.com. We’ll take you off our outreach lists.
  • Access, correct, or delete. Email me@elijahdesent.com to see the information we hold about you or your organization, fix it, or have it deleted. We may keep records we’re required to keep, such as payment records.
  • Disconnect the editor. You can revoke our GitHub app’s access at any time in your GitHub settings, and disconnect it from your AI assistant.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. We’ll honor valid requests and won’t treat you differently for making one.

How long we keep it

We keep information for as long as we have a relationship with you or your organization and as needed for the purposes above — for example, keeping your site’s files for as long as we host it, and keeping payment records as required for taxes and accounting. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Security

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and access controls to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we’ll let you know if a breach affects your information as required by law.

Children

Our services are meant for organizations and adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email me@elijahdesent.com and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll change the date at the top when we do, and if the change is significant we’ll let current clients know. See also our Terms of Service.
